Since 2001, the Boston Latin School Crew girls’ team has raced competitively on the state, regional and national level. In 2015, a boys’ team was added. During the 2017-2018 school year, over 120 athletes rowed for BLS Crew.

The team has had several homes throughout the past 14 years. The team resided at the Brighton Skating Rink with Community Rowing (CRI) from 2001-2009, until CRI built its new boathouse in 2009. Since 2011, BLS Crew has used the old Brighton Bath House on Soldiers Field Road.

While Friends of BLS Crew, with the support of many generous donors, has worked to upgrade and expand the team's equipment along with the growth of the program, the equipment and certainly the boathouse itself do not provide conditions that reflect the athletes' hard work.
