OUR COACHES

Conor Fearon

Girls Varsity Head Coach and BLS Crew Program Coordinator

Conor Fearon began rowing at Glastonbury High School in Connecticut in 2007.  After high school Conor rowed for Pennsylvania State University where he served as the team’s captain and fundraising officer.  At Penn State he also helped run their summer learn to row program. Conor returned to his alma mater, Glastonbury, in the Fall of 2014 where he served as both the girls Head Coach and Novice Coach.

At Glastonbury he coached the girls to a Connecticut Public Schools State Championship. After four years with Glastonbury he moved to Boston to start a masters program in secondary education at Northeastern University.  He spent one year with the MIT Openweight Women as the Volunteer Assistant Coach before coming to BLS

Jack Mancini

Girls Varsity Assistant Coach

Jack Mancini began his rowing career at McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester New York in 2011. Jack capped his senior season off by earning the first Senior 8+ bid to Scholastic Nationals in program history. He then continued his Coxswain career at Syracuse University, where he earned a bronze medal at Eastern Sprints in the Varsity 4+.

Jack began his Boston Latin Coaching career as the Head Girl's Novice Coach in Spring of '21, and then became the Assistant Varsity Girls Coach Spring of '22. On the water or on race day, Coach Jack can be spotted with his purple socks and Coach Oggy, his dog, by his side.

Atticus Kane

Boys Varsity Head Coach

Atticus Kane started his rowing career in 2014 with Arlington Belmont Crew, finishing his time there as a 2018 MPSRA state champion in the boys varsity 8+. He continued rowing in college for UMass Men’s Rowing, where he sat in the varsity 8+ for multiple years, served on the executive board, and was elected team captain for his senior campaign. He also spent the summer of 2019 training and racing for the CRI U23 program.

Atticus graduated from UMass in 2022 with a B.S. in Kinesiology, and currently works for a landscaping and gardening company based in his hometown, Arlington. Fall 2023 will be Atticus’ first season coaching for BLS, and he couldn’t be more excited to pass along everything he’s learned about this great sport to his athletes. When he isn’t working or coaching, Atticus can be found playing basketball, going to the gym, or rewatching the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Andy Hui

Boys Varsity Assistant Coach

Andy learned to row when Boys Crew relaunched in 2015, and served as captain and stroke. The Boys' first official win came at Duel of the Latins, but he couldn’t be prouder of how much more the team has accomplished since. As a freshman at UMass, Andy enjoyed a brief stint with Men's Rowing where he walked on Novice and moved up to Varsity. He sat in bow and occasionally the coxswain's seat, and used the opportunities to develop as a rower and learn more of the sport.

Andy understands firsthand the rigors of balancing BLS academics with sports and extracurriculars. Despite his ultimately brief experience, Andy fell head over heels for Crew and sees it as a place for challenge, camaraderie, and community. He strives to cultivate leadership and that same attitude whether it's Novice or Varsity, believing that "Crew is for Everyone".

Andy does marathons and triathlons and is training for his first 70.3 IronMan. He also enjoys photography, health&wellness, nature, and movies, as well as making music with BU Concert Band, Elevator Five, and Spartans DBC.
