To register your rower for BLS Crew, you will need to:​

  1. Fill out a Registration Form

  2. Submit all Required Forms

  3. Pay Registration Fees

*A parent or guardian must complete this registration form to consent to the waivers.

 

*Please list on the form the email addresses of all parents who need to be included on the team’s listserv to receive important information.

 

Returning Rowers: please submit the registration form and fees by NOVEMBER 28, 2025.

New Rowers: please submit all forms (see below) and fees by FEBRUARY 15, 2026.  

Required Forms

REQUIRED FORMS

All forms should be named with the rower's first and last name and uploaded to the BLS Crew Forms Submission Portal. Do not send your forms to the Registrar. 

 

ONLY NEW ROWERS WHO DID NOT ROW IN FALL 2025 NEED TO SUBMIT THE SWIM TEST, THE SAFETY PLEDGE,  AND CONCUSSION TRAINING 

 

ALL ROWERS WILL NEED TO SUBMIT THE SPRING 2026 SPORTS CLEARANCE ONCE IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.

ROWERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICE UNTIL ALL FORMS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED

 

(1) Spring 2026 BLS Sports Clearance Form submitted to BLS Athletics (once it becomes availalble.)

  • All athletes need to obtain sports clearance for the fall season, even if you have been cleared in a prior season.

  • To obtain a Sports Clearance from the BLS Athletics,  

    • Log into Aspen from a computer. At the bottom right on their home page, in Athletics Workflow, click "Initiate". Follow the instructions linked here.

    • Email student's most recent physical to BPSAthleticPhysical@bostonpublicschools.org. Include the students name and BPS ID# in the subject line. The physical needs to have been within the last 13 months.

  • Asthma Action Plans and Epi-Pen Authorizations will still be required, where applicable.

  • BLS Athletics will use the uploaded form to determine whether the athlete is eligible for a Sports Clearance and will notify the Registrar if the Clearance is granted. The Registrar will notify the rower by email if their Sports Clearance is not granted so please check your email regularly.

 

SUBMIT VIA BLS CREW FORMS SUBMISSION PORTAL

(2) Safety Pledge: signed, scanned and uploaded to the BLS Crew Forms Submission Portal. Even if you provided a Safety Pledge to row in the Summer program, you will need to sign a Winter/Spring 2026 Safety Pledge. The Safety Pledge includes the Opiate/ Substance Abuse Education Acknowledgement that all athletes and parents/guardians must read. 

 

(3) Concussion training certificate: You must complete the linked Concussion Training Program (online), scan the resulting certificate and upload it to the BLS Crew Forms Submission Portal.

 

(4) Swim test form: If you did not submit a valid BLS Crew Swim Test (or equivalent) during a prior season, you must upload one to the BLS Crew Forms Submission Portal. Rowers without swim tests on file will be required to wear a life preserver on the water.
