Open to all grade levels of current and incoming BLS students, Learn to Row is a great way to get on the water, learn the basics, and see what BLS Crew is all about.

WHY LEARN TO ROW?
• Learn the fundamentals of rowing
• Build confidence in a supportive environment
• Meet other students interested in crew
• Get a head start before the fall season
WHAT TO EXPECT
• Sessions take place on the Charles River in Brighton
• Athletes learn the basics of rowing, including technique and teamwork
• Led by BLS Crew coaches and experienced rowers
• All equipment is provided
QUICK QUESTIONS
Do I need rowing experience?
No. This program is designed for students who are brand new to rowing.
Is this only for experienced athletes?
Not at all. Learn to Row is meant to be an accessible introduction.
Should I do this if I’m considering crew in the fall?
Yes. It’s a great way to get comfortable with the sport ahead of the season.

Schedule
Learn to Row Participants may register for one or both two-week sessions.
Session 1
July 13-17 (Monday - Friday), 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
July 20 - 24 (Monday - Friday), 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Session 2
August 17-21 (Monday - Friday), 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
August 24-28 (Monday - Friday), 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Location
All practices at BLS Boathouse.
Additional Required Forms
The following required forms must be submitted as soon as possible once registered, though by the Friday before the first day of the session at the latest.
(1) A physician's school/camp form completed within the past 13 months
(2) A completed Swim Test Form
(3) A completed Safety Pledge
No rower will be permitted to attend without submitting all required forms.
Forms can easily be scanned as high resolution images or PDFs using the Notes app on an iPhone.
Payment and Fees
Payment is due upon registration, unless a payment plan or alternative arrangements have been made with the Registrar.
Two-week session: $400
Both sessions (four weeks): $750
