Against the Current is a short documentary that follows 13-year-old Kate, a young rower living with FSHD, a form of muscular dystrophy. Set against the backdrop of the Charles River in Boston, the film explores Kate’s journey of strength, identity, and resilience as she navigates life with a progressive disability. Through her love of rowing, her voice in the classroom, and her drive to be seen and included, Kate challenges expectations and compels us to rethink what it means to move forward, no matter the current.h
